YouTube to Shorts · Web, iPhone and iPad

Make short clips from your longer YouTube videos.

Bring a supported YouTube link into Keyframe, review the moments it finds, and prepare short videos with captions for YouTube Shorts, Reels, or TikTok.

From a link to a clip you can publish

  1. Copy your source link. Start with a video you own or have permission to use. Public availability alone does not grant permission to republish.
  2. Paste it into AI Clips. Check that Keyframe can access the source. Review the available processing window, format, and credit estimate.
  3. Choose a self-contained moment. Watch the suggested clips and select one that makes sense without the rest of the original video.
  4. Review captions and framing. Correct the transcript and check that the vertical crop preserves the important content.
  5. Export and upload. Save the finished video, then publish it through your chosen platform. Keyframe prepares the file; you control the post.

What if the link does not import?

Not every YouTube URL can be processed. Availability can depend on source restrictions and provider access. Private, unavailable, or restricted videos may fail to import. If you own the recording, try uploading your original video file through a supported upload option.

Choose the moment before the format

A useful excerpt might answer one question, explain one technique, or show a complete reaction. Avoid a cut that depends on a missing introduction or ends before the conclusion. Review the result rather than assuming every AI suggestion is ready to post.

For a conversation or interview, the podcast clipping workflow offers more guidance. If your short video is already edited, go directly to video captions.
